Ribbons

The ribbon is one of the five rhythmic gymnastics apparatus and one of the hardest to master because of its aerial nature. It's made up of two parts: the stick, between 50 and 56 cm, and the fabric ribbon, available in 4 or 6 metres depending on the model.

The right length depends on the gymnast's height and level: younger or beginner gymnasts usually use shorter ribbons, while more advanced gymnasts choose longer ones to work on bigger movements.
